Welcome to Acadiana Christian School! It is truly our joy to share with you what makes ACS such an amazing school and community. We want you to get to know us, understand what makes us unique, and be able to imagine your child and family thriving here. We recognize that choosing the right school for your child is one of the greatest decisions you face as parent and our desire is to serve and support you as you navigate through this process.
It is important that families coming to Acadiana Christian School have a strong commitment to Jesus Christ as well as the basic biblical standards as described in God’s Word. It is the philosophy of ACS that we exist to be an extension of Our Savior’s Church and the Christian home and therefore a family’s spiritual condition must be a deciding factor in the admission process. Admittance is based on a decision by the school administration. The school’s administrators choose carefully from the broad range of applicants who seek admission to ACS. The administrators are committed to selecting a diverse student body and show special concern for continuing the school’s Christian vision.
1. Currently enrolled students of families whose fee and tuition payments are up to date.
2. Siblings of currently enrolled students of families whose fee and tuition payments are up to date.
3. Children of members of Our Savior’s Church who are not currently enrolled.
4. Students transferring from other schools in the surrounding area.
Acadiana Christian School understands that parents desire to have a school that values: Biblical worldview education, safety, compassion, care, kindness, quality of education, etc. ACS values the same reasons why parents want to enroll their children at a private Christian school and we desire to create a school culture that is “set apart” from other schools in the best way possible. Therefore, admission to ACS is not guaranteed upon applying. Please note:
*Any student, who has not met the academic or behavioral requirements of his former school or who, in the view of the ACS administration, has a history of serious behavioral problems will not be admitted to ACS. Students under suspension or expulsion from another school are not eligible to enroll at ACS.
*Any student who does not want to attend ACS will not be invited to attend (despite parental desire for their child to attend ACS).
*If a transfer student has incurred a financial debt with their prior school and a plan has not been arranged to clear that debt, the student may not be admitted to Acadiana Christian School. It is the desire of ACS that the student in question return to his former school as soon as possible and place himself under the proper authority of his school; he may then apply to ACS if he desires to receive a Christian education.
*Any student who previously attended ACS and left to attend another school, is not guaranteed re-admission to ACS. (Re-admission may be contingent on available space, as defined by the principal, at the time the student wishes to be readmitted to ACS.)
*Any student who previously attended ACS and left with a financial debt to ACS may not be admitted to Acadiana Christian School unitl a plan has been arranged to clear that debt.
*Acadiana Christian School reserves the right to evaluate our student body at the end of each school year for readmission into the following school year. Evaluation will include a review of academics and behavioral history as well as parental cooperation.
*Home-schooled students desiring to enroll in ACS must present evidence of work completed, attendance records, standardized test scores, and/or any summative evaluations. To receive high school credit, home-schooled students must be able to demonstrate competency in those subjects as evidenced by grades earned and administration of a standardized achievement test and/or competency examination in subject areas for which they claim credit. Credit will be granted when these competencies are established.
*Students with exceptionalities that have a 504 plan or a service plan/IEP must be transparent and upfront when applying for admission to ACS. ACS desires to serve all families and students to the best of our ability. Due to ACS being a small private school we do not offer the same accommodations and resources that may be offered in a public school setting. We desire to see all children succeed academically, socially and emotionally. Our administration takes a broad look at the needs of the student(s) applying as well as what we are able to offer families when deciding admission to ACS.
