At Acadiana Christian School, our upper elementary division consists of grades 3rd-5th. The goal of our upper elementary division is to provide a Christ-centered educational program dedicated to the glory of God. Students will be challenged to further develop the Biblical values that are the foundation of our Pre-school and lower elementary program. Students will gain additional knowledge of God’s order and universe through the use of Christian curriculums. In mathematics, students will incrementally develop a foundation that builds upon prior learning, repetition, and promotes high-level thinking skills.
Lessons are enhanced by the use of various manipulatives and real-life relationships. Our science and social studies programs provide insight into the wonders and intricacies of God’s creation. The science and social studies curriculum is enhanced by technology, project-based learning experiences, and hands-on investigation. Our English-Language Arts curriculum utilizes a variety of grade appropriate novels to develop active and effective readers.
In addition, students will use logical and systematic methods to develop a solid foundation for lifelong literacy. Our students also participate in daily Bible lessons as well as regularly scheduled chapel services. The curriculum is further enhanced by the addition of physical education.
